The island of Crete is most visited during the Summer for its amazing beaches scenic countryside and pleasant lifestyle.

Yet the island has many hidden gems that are worth seeing during the Winter months when temperatures rarely go below 10 degrees Celsius.

Such was the location I chose to photograph the family temporarily living in Greece for the States.

Family photographer in Rethymno Crete shoot at Arkadi Monastery
A family trip to the island of Crete turned into a reunion as some members live in Asia and others in California. During their vacation, the family was brought together so they decided to celebrate this moment with a family photo shoot. Elijah contacted me and specifically requested to have the photo session in the historical Monastery of Arkadi in Rethymno, Crete. The age span was from a few months old all the way to grandma and grandpa. The monastery grounds were ideal as it provided multiple locations and backdrops all within a few meters apart from each other. How to get to Arkadi Monastery

Olive groove and beach family session on the island of Crete
After about 5 years it was time to head back home to San Diego, California. Best of all before departing, we arranged for a photo shoot on the beach with Jamie expecting their second child.
