Finding some inspiration & new hope for 2018 at the Botanical park of Chania Crete

My journal

Just as the New Year has entered our lives one still lingerers with thoughts of the year that pasted.

For some 2017 was the best yet and for others just a bitter distant memory.

Either way, I personally want to wish 2018 to be a healthy strong and prosperous year.

 

The other day my wife, daughter, some dear friends and myself visited Chanias Botanical Park.

Nestled in the foothills of Omalos, this place is ideal for some local food and for a walk amongst Crete’s flora, fauna and other plants. Not mention many other specimens from around the world.

Popular in the Summer on the way to the Samaria Gorge, visiting the Botanical Park is ideal for the entire family. And very photogenic.

Anyway, happy new year.

Taking Penelope for the first time to the Acropolis in Athens Greece
Our daughter has fallen asleep countless times with stories from Greek mythology. One of her favorites is how Athens got its name from the goddess Athena. Walking around the Acropolis then up to the sacred hill to the Parthenon was very special for even at the age of seven.

24h escape to the South of Crete in Paleochora
It all happened mid week, 75 min away in less than 24hours in September. Paleohora in the South of Crete is our favourite destination "get-away".  Amazing beaches, great food and family atmosphere. And all that can be arranged within one stop. Just drive up to the "Palm Tree" and you are done. Perrakis family takes care of the rest. Rooms, food and tones of smiles. We have always loved hanging out there from our single days up to now as a family.
