Fall-Winter family photo session around a monastery on Crete, Greece

The island of Crete is most visited during the Summer for its amazing beaches scenic countryside and pleasant lifestyle.

Yet the island has many hidden gems that are worth seeing during the Winter months when temperatures rarely go below 10 degrees Celsius.

Such was the location I chose to photograph the family temporarily living in Greece for the States.

Family photographer in Chania Crete, photo session of Soley-Jakob and family from Iceland
Up until a few hours of this photo shoot in the Old Town of Chania, I wasn’t sure if it was going to happen. Due to the weather changing every other day I thought that the family wanted bright sun and crystal blue skies. But Jakob and Soley live in Iceland and the cloudy weather didn’t bother them at all. A rare case for Crete in the Summer, but a possibility none the less. The family, with their distinct and relaxed presence, inspired me to use the days' characteristics to match their style. Hair styling makeover fashion photo shoot
Emmanouela had the idea to cut her hair short and change the color to a pinkish-red that totally suited the coming of Christmas. GREG Hair & Nails took over the challenge and together with my assistant Eva we documented the procedure and afterwards had a short photoshoot.
