Local festival with a photo expo at Zymvragou Chania Crete, Greece

My journal

A few months back I was asked to participate in a photo expo by donating a framed picture. Organized by Mr. Archontakis Ioannis the expo took part last night August 10th 2016.

More of Mr. Archontakis work can be viewed at olivepress ART FACTORY worth visiting when in the area.

The location of Zymvragou, of the municipality of Platanias was magical. And old neoclassical building that used to be the village school has be restored and turned into a photo and cinema museum.

And best of all on the same evening the locals were hosting a local festival with food and live music.

A fine way to spend the evening with family on the island of Crete.

Family time in the Canary Islands
The best time is family time. The best family time is when we get to travel. As a family we place great value into travel. We all had the time of our lives. And how couldn’t we. It was November and we were at Lanzarote hanging out on the beach sun bathing! This was part two of m ...

3 years and counting
Penelope turned 3 the other day and reminded us once again that time waits for no one. So I personally try to slow down and enjoy it. Easier said than done, but an effort must be made in that direction. Together with loved ones we celebrated our little miracle. We blew 3 candles, ate some cake, opened gifts and set sail for the next year. Happy birthday Penelope.

Bringing some local lifestyle to a villa photo shoot in the South of Crete
Photographing villas for me is a substantial part of my work. The main aspect I try to implement in this type of work is of genuine lifestyle during each photo shoot. This is what I incorporated when I recently photographed a small villa in the renowned village of Sfakia in the South of Crete. Sfakia is known throughout history for the bravery of it’s inhabitants during every single war that the island has been involved in. A proud group of people that now see thousands of tourists flock by during the Summer due to the passage from the Samaria Gorge and quaint neighboring villages like, Loutro, Fragokastelo and others. Alexandra of A ...
