The Van Dalen family photo shoot in Chania’s Venetian Harbor

families

A family of four, Richard, Gaby, Niels and Robin met up with me and my assistant Agie for a one-hour session in the Venetian Harbor of Chania, Crete here in Greece.

Coming from Holland they definitely enjoyed the nice sunny day in town.

And here are a few words from Gaby:

In English:

What place should be better for a family photoshoot than a place in the country that feels like a second home to us: Of course no other than a place in Greece! That was the thought I had before I searched for a photographer nearby Chania, to surprise my husband during our holiday in Crete. When I saw Andreas’ website I immediately contacted and I got a good en clear advise of the options within our possibilities and wishes. Yahoo, the day before leaving for Crete, while packaging our suitcases, we had a deal! After a week juicing up the Greece atmosphere, and all having a tiny tan on our faces, the day had come. At once it felt comfortable with Andreas and assistant Agie. With ease and humor, we went through it all, in the lovely old town of Chania. We all enjoyed it very much and we love the result. Wow, what a souvenir we now have!

Thanks a lot, Andreas, and Agie of course, for the beautiful photographs and good memories of the moment.

Rethymno Crete Greece family photographer. A birthday gift from Norway
The gift of a family photo shoot for a birthday has been very high on my request list for the past couple of years. When people travel from around the world and decide to visit Crete they love to combine the scenery with the gift of a family photo shoot. Such was the case of the Grann’s from Norway. The family of 8 with now two little members chose to celebrate their mothers 60th birthday within the Fortezza Castle of Rethymno Crete. Six children and now the two grandchildren walked around with me in the morning heat of August, all together with a sense of explorers. I melted and they loved it. In their own words: The pictur ...

A family trip to the island of Crete turned into a reunion as some members live in Asia and others in California. During their vacation, the family was brought together so they decided to celebrate this moment with a family photo shoot. Elijah contacted me and specifically requested to have the photo session in the historical Monastery of Arkadi in Rethymno, Crete. The age span was from a few months old all the way to grandma and grandpa. The monastery grounds were ideal as it provided multiple locations and backdrops all within a few meters apart from each other. How to get to Arkadi Monastery

A photographic walk around the Acropolis in Athens Greece.
This past Summer I photographed the wedding of my friends Christo and Eleni in Chania Crete Greece. On the same day they baptized their little boy Dimitri. The unfortunate part of the whole day was that Dimittri go bitten by a bug the night before and had his hansom face swollen throughout he day. So I decided one day to make it up to the champ. The family live in Athens so we never had a everyday chance to meet up and have me photograph Dimitri.   A few weeks ago I was on a business trip in Athens and finally had an opportunity keep my promise.   I wanted to photograph Dimitri with a new approach I am trying. ...
